What are the Webbies?
The Webbies is a showcase of the best student work in the School of Communications.  Students can submit work in 11 categories.  Entries are then sorted and delivered to our judges.  Professionals working within the 11 categories are selected to judge the entries and give constructive feedback to the students while selecting nominees for each category.

When are the Webbies?
The Webbies will be held on Monday April 7 at 7:00 p.m.

Where are the Webbies?
The award ceremony will be held in the beautiful Loretto-Hilton

Who will be at the Webbies?
Webster students, parents, faculty and alumni will be in attendance.  Don’t be surprised if professionals in the communications field will also be present.

What are the 11 categories in the Webbies competition?
PR, Advertising and Marketing, Print, Animation, Broadcast Journalism, General Media, Video, Scriptwriting, Audio, Film, Interactive Media

What’s in it for me?
A Webbies award will look excellent on a resume.  You will have the chance to have  your work critiqued by professionals in your field of study. It provides networking opportunities for future jobs and internships. You have a chance to be recognized among your peers and professors.
What do I wear?
Professional attire is appropriate for this event.

Who is eligible to submit work for the Webbies?
Anyone in the School of Communications, including our international campuses.

How do I submit my work?
Entry forms can be picked up at the UC front desk. Students must
submit three copies of each entry on three separate CDs or DVDs, whichever is appropriate. Each CD/DVD may contain more than one entry.

When is the deadline for submissions?
Deadline is 5 p.m., Friday, February 29.

I'm studying abroad, can I still submit?
Yes! We are taking The Webbies international this year, so every campus should have information about submissions. You can also download an entry form and mail your work in or submit electronically. If you have further questions or need a mailing address, contact us at

I have a group project, but half the group graduated last year. Can I still submit our project?
Yes! Not everyone has to be a current student to win. You can still put everyone's name on the submission form even if only one or two people will be accepting the award.

What if my work fits under more than one category?
You can submit the same piece under multiple large categories (i.e.- Film and Scriptwriting), but you can only have one sub-category per entry.
